Maybe you’re thinking of doing a trip out of town or looking for something to do nearby this summer; here’s a few of Canada’s best amusement parks sure to provide fun memories for the whole family.

Canada’s Wonderland – Vaughan, Ontario

We can’t make a list of amusement parks to consider without Canada’s Wonderland being top of the list it’s the largest and most well know in Canada. Don’t forget your swim suits for this theme park there’s huge water park attached housing Canada’s largest wave pool as well. Admission starts at $39.99 if you pre-pay online or $62 at the gate.

Calaway Park – Calgary, Alberta

The largest outdoor theme park in western Canada this park offers 32 different rides for all riders of all ages everything from a miniature train to a haunted mansion. There is even a good old fashion carousel. Admission ranges from $29-38 and children under 2 are free.

La Ronde – Montreal, Quebec

The park was originally built for expo ’67 but has since been bought by Six Flags and boasts the largest suspended roller coaster in Canada the ride, called Tornado, is sure to take your breath away. With 10 roller coasters to choose from the thrill seeker in your family is sure to meet their match. Admission starts at $46.99 children 2 and under free.

Playland – Vancouver, British Columbia

Adjacent the Pacific National Exhibition land Playland’s wooden roller coaster should be atop your list of things to do here. They also have a great Pirate adventure ship designed with kids in mind, mini golf and midway games for those less adventurous or smaller family members. Best to check out their website for prices as admission varies but it’s cheaper to buy online ahead of time.

Magic Mountain Water Park – Moncton, New Bruinswick

When it’s hot and sticky out there’s nowhere more exciting for the kids than the water park and heading to Magic Mountain, Atlantic Canada’s largest water park, might be just the right ingredient for a refreshingly fun day. Again best to check it out online for admission prices as half day options are available as well as family passes.

I’m sure crossing the gates into any of these parks this summer will have your little ones grinning from ear to ear. Watch for any online special ticket prices popping up closer to opening day. Generally most parks open mid to end of May and close in September once kids head back to school, however some will be open on weekends as late as October.
