Drink it…?

I get sent Cocktail, Vodka, Shoe and George Clooney stuff all the time. People know what I like and they like sharing it with me…I LOVE THIS! I love being out and getting a random Tweet, FB post or email of a drink someone is having or shoes they found. It totally makes my day. I am humbled that people take the time to send it and even think of me at all. I always try to do the same when I see things that I know my friends would like. It makes a person feel special that you took a few moments out of your busy day to think about them. Warm and fuzzy all around. I have to say they, the one thing I get sent the most is links and emails about “Alternative Uses for Vodka”. This one still baffles me every time someone sends it to me. I always reply with…”Why would I want to do anything else with it but drink it?” Then I quickly think of the liquor cabinet in my house and the almost full bottle, very dusty bottles of vodka inside it…Yes I said dusty… As much as I love vodka…not all vodka is good. I get sent quite a bit of it to sample and hopefully create cocktails with but not all make the cut. so with these I plan on trying some of the tips you send to me… I am going to share a few with you here and if you have any, please send them along… 1- To clean the caulking around bathtubs and showers,  spray the caulking with vodka, let set five minutes and wash clean. The alcohol in the vodka kills mold and mildew. And if your having a rough start to your morning…lick your shower. 2- Spray vodka on vomit stains, scrub with a brush, then blot dry. And how do you thing the vomit stains got there in the first place? 3- Homemade mouthwash by mixing 8 tablespoons powered cinnamon with 1 cup vodka. Seal in container for 2 weeks. Strain and mix with warm water to rinse your mouth. Don’t swallow. Ya right…like that is going to happen…who doesn’t swallow? 4-  Vodka will disinfect and alleviate a jellyfish sting. Well it’s better than pee! 5- Using a cotton ball, apply vodka to your face as an astringent to cleanse the skin and tighten pores. There are pores on my tongue right? Vodka Martini…Dirty… 3 ounces Good Vodka 1 ounce Dry vermouth 1/2 ounce Olive brine (juice) Add to a shaker with ice, shake well and strain into a chilled martini glass…Garnish with Olives…Now that is how you use Vodka… Cheers
