I have so many people ask me how to make a green smoothie. It’s really not all that hard. You just need to make sure you have all the ingredients on hand. Spinach being the key ingredient. The extras ingredients that you add are really up to you. The world is your oyster. Seriously! There are so many variations to the green smoothie, but just don’t forget the spinach!!
Before you cringe… Spinach is actually really good for you!!!
Spinach is loaded with vitamins, minerals and is a good source of iron. Did you know spinach offers you almost twice as much fiber in comparison to other greens? Spinach is also an excellent source of beta-carotene, a powerful disease fighting anti-oxidant. So the next time you cringe at the word spinach and think gross… Remember it really isn’t! It has so many wonderful health benefits for you! For that reason…. I love adding in a handful or two of spinach to some of my favorite smoothies.
I’ve noticed that green smoothies play an important role in improving my health, energy levels and overall mood. Green smoothies are a yummy, nutritious and healthy addition to any diet.
Green Apple-Strawberry Smoothie Ingredients 1 cup of ice 1 handful spinach 1 banana 5 strawberries 1 apple 1/2 cup low-fat vanilla yogurt 1/2 coconut water or apple juice
Directions Add ice to the blender first followed by fruits and spinach. Top with yogurt and fluid. Blend until smooth. Serve and enjoy!
