I don’t know about you, but I cannot believe that school year is about to end. Where does the time go? It feels like yesterday that my little man started his first day of JK. And now, in just 3 short weeks he will be finishing school, going to camp and then starting SK. *enter sobbing here*
Of course, with the end of school comes the burning question that every mom and dad has. “What gifts do we get the teachers??”
A friend of mine said he would love to have 5 minutes of uninterrupted silence. However, that gift is quite unlikely to happen.
So instead of the box of chocolates or coffee gift card, I thought of things that were more personal and thoughtful that any teacher is sure to love. And that your wallet is sure to love too.
Here are my top 5 gift ideas on what to get for your kids teacher to make it a little easier on you when it comes time to make the decision:
1 – Gift Certificate to the spa
What teacher wouldn’t love that? After a year of being in a class room all day with kids, who wouldn’t want a little relaxation? There are so many spas to choose from and they can choose any service they want. A little pampering goes a long way!
2 – Personalized Stationery
Teachers always have something to say and give a lot of feedback. What better than doing it on their own personalized paper? Give them something nice and good to write on!
3 – Teacher’s Mug
Who doesn’t like a good cup of coffee or tea in a great mug? Indigo has a wide selection of mugs with amazing quotes and sayings on them. We love this one http://www.pinterest.com/pin/255438610087811368/
4 – Books/Journals
Who doesn’t love curling up on the couch with a good book (and perhaps a glass of wine)? Or jotting down their adventures while travelling. I know I do. Whether it be for the teacher themselves or for their classroom, books are always a thoughtful gift.

I’ve seen so many pictures of different personalized canvas art lately that I’ve actually come to really like it! You can get one that you can design any way you want. You write a message to your teacher or just have a few facts about them on it. Really cute and fun.

What is on your teachers gift list?
We used to do Teacher’s gifts but after a few years of schooling and such; we stopped. Kids will make handmade Thanks for Being the Best Teacher Ever cards but we no longer invest any finances into gifts for our teachers. Can never get the same gift twice if it is made from scratch!
Agree and I think that’s a great idea. This is out first go at it! I’m sure after a few years I’ll be all about the handmade too!!
We do homemade gifts as well. DIT sugar scrubs are awesome
DIY I mean
What are sugar scrubs?
