Take a look at this amazing photo of Alysia Montano who ran 800 m at track and field for the US Championships. She is 34 weeks pregnant and showing us all how it’s done.

Amazing right?

‘That took away any fear of what the outside world might think about a woman running during her pregnancy,’ Montano said.

‘What I found out mostly was that exercising during pregnancy is actually much better for the mom and the baby. … I did all the things I normally do … I just happened to be pregnant. This is my normal this year.’

I personally couldn’t imagine running that far without a full grown baby in my belly let alone being pregnant, but this woman deserves a huge applause don’t you think?

  • I wasn’t competing by any means but when I was pregnant with my first daughter I was running up to thirty weeks pregnant (then I slowed to a fast walk). I felt awesome! It felt so good to be as active as I was throughout my pregnancy. Plus, my body bounced back very quickly.

  • This just goes to show that women CAN do anything! I think it’s absolutely amazing that she has the drive & energy to do such physical activities when pregnant ☺

  • I think if it’s normal for her and part of her everyday then being pregnant shouldn’t stop her. If there were issues I’m sure she would stop or slow down!
