Our Free Printable “You Are the Sugar to My Tea”

Individual Tea Bags
Red Hots or Sprinkles
Mix 1/2 cup of sugar with juice from 1/2 of a blood orange. Blood oranges have a sweet taste and will create a pink stain to your sugar. (Tip: Blood oranges also stain anything in their path, be careful not to stain clothing, counter tops, etc.) Once sugar is completely pink, and the consistency is similar to wet sand, place the mixture in each heart mold. Optional: Place red hots or sprinkles in the bottom of the heart mold to add more design and flavor to the sugar hearts. Use the back of a spoon or your fingers to pack sugar so the mold is completely full without air bubbles.
Place heart mold into the freezer for a couple of hours for the hearts to become solid and easily pop out of mold. For best results allow the hearts to dry in room temperature for 24 hours after removing from the freezer. This will help prevent hearts from breaking and crumbling.
After hearts are solid, insert them into a clear cellophane bag and then into the heart canvas bag. Attach our free printable tag to the drawstring and gift to your favorite tea lover!
