Summer may be over, but that does not mean the fun in the great outdoors has to end! Fall is a great time to gather the family together, hit the trails and enjoy what Mother Nature has to offer. Not sure where to start? Here are some tips to get you going and to have fun while you are away from home!

One of the first things to think about when going camping with the family is where to go. There are several campsites located around different cities that families can visit and get outside to be a part of nature. There are also various different kinds of camp sites you can go to that offer very little or several amenities. It all depends on what you and your family is comfortable using!

Now that you have looked into where you are going to go, you may not have a cushy RV or trailer to sleep in. You may want to rough it a bit and enjoy sleeping in a tent for your adventure! You will want to find one that fits your whole family, or a few that you and your family can use while you sleep under the stars. Not sure how your family will enjoy sleeping in a tent? Have a test run in your backyard and make a fun family event out of it! This way, your kids will be able to adjust to the sights inside the tent as well as the sounds they may hear outside of it.

You should also be ready for the elements! The great outdoors can be fickle, and you should be prepared for it. Make sure you pack the right clothing for your trip, as well as the essentials to keep you comfortable. You will also want to care about your skin while outdoors. Products to protect your skin from the harmful effects of the sun and from being eaten alive by insects should be packed and used while outdoors.

Finally, a campfire treat is always important to have during camping trips to create lasting memories. Kids of all ages love roasting food over an open fire and chatting about the day they have just had, or telling stories to have a bit of fun before turning in. There are so many treats you can make over a campfire, and all of them will be a sure-fire hit! It will cap off an amazing camping trip, and will have your kids wanting to make camping trips a new family tradition!

Camping can be fun for the whole family! If planned well, it can be such an amazing experience for your whole family. Hopefully, these tips will help you and your family on their way to experience the great outdoors in your own special way.

Do you enjoy camping? What is your favourite part of this type of excursion?
