Committed to the Plan
What would you do if you had the chance to start everything all over again? If you could wipe most of your slate clean and have a fresh, new start for your life. New home, new career, and the lifestyle you created one simple hobby at a time.
Taking a break out of life is sometimes exactly what we needed to find what kind of “life” we should be living.
Our family did exactly that 3 years ago. We sold off our home and “excess” stuff, quit our jobs, and left our community crossing bumpy waters to search for what we actually wanted out of life.
We found it, well most of it, on a small homestead on a west coast island in BC. We have a flock of chickens that tend to roost on our front porch, far too many roosters for any one family, and a gaggle of free ranging kids and lots of space to run.
We balance a healthy, organic lifestyle with tech based careers. Garden plots, chainsaws and a summer on the sailboat.
We had a chance to start all over again, and took the risk to build a life that we had only dreamed of. Hammocks and apple orchards, and lazy days where we are spoiled in family time, and we share our story, and our quest to maintain our lifestyle in this busy world over on our personal blog 3 Chickens and a Boat.
I am thrilled to be joining the PTPA blogaholics program for 2016 and hope to share stories of our island lifestyle, recipes, and projects, and my thoughts on balancing all those things that come into life when you are a parent.
