I made these bottle cap wine charms to have at my house when I host book club. We meet once a month to have dinner together and discuss the latest book we’ve read. I will admit there are times where there is more sharing our lives and our wine that discussing the book but if it brings us together that is all that matters. You can make these DIY Wine Charms for your family or to give as gifts if you don’t have a book club!
How to Make Bottle Cap Wine Charms
Wine charms are an easy way for everyone to keep track of their glass when you have several people around. I made these with just a few simple items from the craft store and put each the initials of everyone in my book club on them. Now when we have book club at my house it’s easy for everyone to find their glass. Since we have 3 K’s and 2 C’s I varied the color of the scrapbook paper circles so that no two are alike.
- Flat Bottle Caps
with or without holes. If you get them without holes you will need a metal hole punch like the one you see above
- Ear Wire Beading Hoops
- 1″ Epoxy Stickers for Bottle Caps
- 1″ Circle Punch
- Scrapbook paper
- Letter Stickers (optional)
- Glue
Take your flat bottle caps and using the metal hole punch make a hole close to the edge.
Using your 1″ circle craft punch, punch out your scrapbook paper backgrounds. If you want to put initials on them apply your letter stickers to the middle of each circle. Glue a paper circle into each bottle cap and then place the epoxy sticker on top.
The epoxy sticker seals the paper in and protects it from spills. Do not soak these in a sink of water, if they get dirty just wipe them with a damp cloth. Now you are ready to put the wire hoops through the hole and hang your bottle cap wine charms on your favorite wine glasses.
