Salt scrub recipes are super easy to make and fun to pamper yourself with. I keep this whipped lemon salt scrub in my shower all the time and use it everywhere to smooth out rough spots and exfoliate my skin. This secret I use is adding shea butter to it. It not only exfoliates but really helps hold in the moisture and keep your skin soft! You can also substitute brown sugar for the salt if you prefer which is how we make this brown sugar coconut oil scrub.
Salt scrubs make great gifts and you can us any kind of scent or essential oil you want to customize it. For this easy 5 ingredient, salt scrub recipe and you just put all your ingredients in a bowl and mix it together! I use my stand mixer to whip it up really well but you don’t have to. How to make a scented salt scrub with shea butter
Most of these ingredients you can find either in your local craft store, usually in the soap making isle. The coconut oil and epsom salt you should be able to find in your local grocery store. I have provided affiliate links below for your convienince as well should you want to order any of the ingredients online.
Ingredients to make salt scrub recipes:
- 1/2 cup Coconut oil
- 1/2 cup Shea Butter
- 1/4 tsp apple scented oil used in soap making or any essential oil of your choice.
- 1/2 cup Epsom salt
- 50 drops red soap making dye (optional)
- Avery round labels (optional)
In your mixer combine the coconut oil, shea butter, scented oil and dye. Whip on medium then on high. Mix until well combined and shea butter is well incorporated. Add epsom salt and mix on low just until incorporated. Spoon into a plastic or glass container and seal until ready to use.
