There is nothing quite like Grilled Corn On The Cob! It reminds me of the state fair and that big ‘ol vat of butter that they dip it in! Delish! Although you can’t dip your whole ear of corn in a tub of melted butter (or maybe you can?), you can get that same grilled taste at home on your own grill!
Grilled Corn On The Cob is one of my favorite summer dishes! As a kid, I remember getting fresh corn on the side of the road and it being the best corn I’ve ever had, and every time we make Grilled Corn On The Cob, it reminds me of those corn stands.
There are a couple different ways to grill corn – in the husk or not. We like to grill ours in the husk. It steams the corn a little bit and infuses the smoky flavor from the grill into the corn! Plus, buying corn in the husk is cheaper than the stuff thats already husked. Why not save a few bucks for 5 more minutes of work, right? Now you don’t need to keep the entire husk on. I like to peel a lot of the outer leaves away until just the light green leaves remain.
First things first, clean the corn. Cut off that little furry bit on the top, and peel off the leaves to leave just the light green ones. The big part of the corn at the bottom you can leave on or cut off. If I’m not using corn holders, I’ll leave it on to use like a handle when it’s time to eat. Next, fill a clean sink up with water. Soak the corn for at least 30 minutes.
A lot of this recipe is done hands off. The hardest part will be cleaning all those little hairs that get all over the kitchen. If your grocery store has a bin to husk your corn, do it there, again leaving some of the husk on.
Once your corn has soaked, toss it on the grill and walk away. Turn the corn 1/4 turn every 10-15 minutes or so to ensure even cooking and you’re done in about 35 minutes – pretty much as long as it will take you to prep and cook your main course, like French Onion Cheeseburgers, or BBQ Chicken Kabobs or even Grilled Sweet Chili Lime Chicken.

Preheat grill to high heat.
Partially husk corn, leaving light green husk in place.
Soak corn in a sink full of water for 30 minutes.
Cook corn on high heat, turning 1/4 turn every 10 minutes or so to ensure even cooking.
Corn will be ready in about 25-35 minutes. Remove husk and serve.
